Fossil fuel impact on Indian economy
According to the latest report by environment organisation
Greenpeace Southeast Asia with inputs from the Centre for
Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), India is estimated to
bear 10.7 lakh crore ($150 billion), or 5.4 per cent of
India's GDP annually.
India to bear health care cost
India is importing crude oils worth of 8.8 lakh crore and
import cost is increasing significantly about 12 % year
on year.
In total about 19.5 lakh crore is India spending on fossil fuel.
That large imported fuel bill is adding to the pressure on
consumers, who are struggling with rising inflation
